India’s leading small car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki who has already introduced a small car MR Wagon at the 2012 New Delhi Auto Expo. MR Wagon is particularly a Japanese Kei car with a mini MPV, manufactured by Suzuki. Kei cars are a Japanese iteration of small vehicles, including passenger cars, vans and pickup trucks. The model debuted in 2001 and was launched in India in 2006 as Maruti Zen Estilo.
The Maruti Suzuki MR Wagon has a mini MPV body with a seating capacity of four adults. The box-shaped car does not look like a small car but resembles more like a minivan. It measures about 890 kg in weight and stands 3395 mm long, 1475 mm wide and 1735 mm high.
The Maruti Suzuki MR Wagon comes loaded with a 3 cylinder, 660 cc petrol engine that produces peak power of 54 bhp at 6500 rpm and top torque of 63 Nm at 4000 rpm. The car will also be available with a turbocharged engine that offers increased power of 64 bhp.
The Maruti Suzuki is expected to hit the Indian roads by the end of the next two or three years. The upcoming car will be available with the price tag of Rs 3 lakh in India.
